Sridhar Babu Accuses KTR of Spreading Lies on Land Allocations
In the Indian state of Telangana, two political parties are arguing.
One is called Congress, and the other is called BRS.
Congress runs the state government right now.
Its Industries Minister, Mr. Sridhar Babu, says a BRS leader named KTR is telling lies.
The fight is about how much money companies pay for government land.
Mr. Sridhar Babu says his government charges one and a half crore rupees per acre, while the old BRS government charged only ninety lakh rupees per acre.
KTR spoke about a two hundred crore rupee figure, and the minister wants him to explain where that number came from.
Mr. Sridhar Babu also says the BRS hurt Telangana's interests when rivers water was shared.
He promises his government will not back down and will fight for Telangana's fair share of water at the upcoming Godavari River Management Board meeting.
He also told KTR not to scare business people or block Telangana's development.
Telangana Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu accused BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) of making false statements on land allocations and other issues.
Sridhar Babu said the Congress government allotted land at Rs.1.50 crore per acre, compared with Rs.90 lakh per acre under the previous BRS government.
He said five acres were allotted for Rs.7.5 crore and demanded that KTR explain the basis for his Rs.200 crore figure.
The minister said the HILT policy would benefit the people of Hyderabad and cautioned KTR against creating fear among industrialists and obstructing development.
Sridhar Babu alleged the previous BRS government damaged Telangana's interests in water allocation and said the state will strongly argue its case at the upcoming Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) meeting.
