Morbe Dam Storage Rises to 86.48%, 10% Water Cut Continues

There is a very big lake called Morbe Dam that gives drinking water to people in Navi Mumbai.

Earlier this year, the lake had very little water, so the city asked everyone to use 10% less water.

Now, after lots of rain, the lake is 86.48% full.

But the city says people still need to save water until the lake is completely full.

The area around the lake got 16.40 mm of rain in just one day.

Since June 1, it has rained 2,687.20 mm in the dam's catchment area.

To fill up completely, the dam needs about 3,500 to 3,800 mm of rain.

Some people who live in high places in Kharghar still do not get enough water because some water was sent to Taloja.

Officials say they will look at ending the water cut if the monsoon keeps bringing good rain.
