Ballia Doctors, Former CMO Booked Over Minor’s Age Certificate
Police in Ballia have registered a case against five people, including a former senior health official and three doctors.
The case concerns the alleged changing of a minor’s age certificate.
The certificate originally said that Pravindra Kumar was 20 years old.
It was allegedly changed to say he was 22.
The certificate was made after a Juvenile Justice Board asked the district hospital to determine his age.
The complaint says the change was connected to an earlier case against Pravindra.
Police say the accused have been booked for cheating and forgery-related offences.
The investigation is still underway.
Five people, including a former chief medical officer and three district hospital doctors, were booked in Ballia.
The case followed a complaint by Jai Nath Ram and an August 19 order from the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
The complaint alleges that a certificate recording Pravindra Kumar’s age as 20 was changed to 22.
The certificate had been issued by Ballia district hospital on January 17, 2022, following a Juvenile Justice Board order.
Police registered the case under IPC sections covering cheating, forgery and use of forged documents; the investigation is ongoing.
