Maharashtra has promoted 82 government workers who help manage land and revenue matters.

Fifty-seven Tehsildars will become Deputy Collectors.

Twenty-five Naib Tehsildars will become Tehsildars.

The government says this can help fill empty jobs.

It also hopes the changes will make government work faster.

The officials’ exact new postings will be announced later.

Those postings will come after work on checking and updating voter lists is completed.

Some promotions still need approval from the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.
