Bandra Police Detain Three in Fitness Trainer Road-Rage Assault
A man named Arjunjit Garewal was driving home late at night with his wife after dinner at his parents' house.
Another car came in front of him, and when he drove around it, the other driver got very angry.
The angry car chased them and bumped into their car near a petrol pump.
It then blocked their way near a lake.
Several people got out and started hitting Mr. Garewal with their hands and feet.
One person tried to hit him with a baseball bat, and another broke the car's windows with a hockey stick.
Mr. Garewal's wife was scared, so she got out of the car, and the attackers drove away.
Mr. Garewal asked his wife to call the emergency helpline, and the police came to help.
The police found three of the people involved and questioned them, but the others are still being searched for.
Bandra police detained three men - identified as Anas K, 25, Bilal Shaikh, 30, and Rajen - over the alleged road-rage assault on fitness trainer Arjunjit Garewal, releasing them after serving notices.
The incident began on S.V. Road near Sahil Hotel when an XUV came in front of Garewal's car and its occupants allegedly grew angry after he overtook them.
The XUV, carrying six to seven people, allegedly chased, rammed and blocked Garewal's car near Bandra Lake, where he was beaten with fists and kicks.
One accused allegedly tried to hit Garewal with a baseball bat, while another damaged his car's front, rear and driver-side windows with a hockey stick.
An FIR was registered on Sunday under sections 115(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and police are searching for the remaining accused.
