Overspeeding Drives Madhya Pradesh Road Deaths, Data Shows

A report studied road crashes in Madhya Pradesh from 2020 to 2025.

It found that driving too fast was the biggest danger.

Overspeeding was connected to 12,818 deaths in 2025 alone.

It also caused 46,904 crashes and 49,204 injuries that year.

Other dangerous behaviors showed some improvement.

Crashes linked to mobile-phone use fell sharply.

Red-light-jumping crashes also decreased, although its deaths rose from one to two.

Wrong-side driving declined in crashes and deaths, but injuries barely changed.

Drunk-driving crashes stayed nearly the same while deaths and injuries increased.
