J&K's First International Film Festival to Open New Cultural Chapter
A very special event is coming to Jammu and Kashmir: the first International Film Festival.
Movies are made by people called filmmakers, directors and actors, and many of them will come to this festival.
Films from more than 80 countries will be shown there.
There will be big movies, short movies and documentaries.
People can also go to special classes to learn new things about making films.
Officials say this festival is very important for the region.
They hope it will help people share stories, ideas and culture with each other.
They also hope visitors will come to see the beautiful places in Jammu and Kashmir.
The festival will take place in three cities: Srinagar, Jammu and Gulmarg.
The first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK) will be held from September 7 to 10 in Srinagar, Jammu and Gulmarg.
Commissioner Secretary, Information, R Alice Vaz called the festival a landmark initiative that will open a new chapter in the Union Territory's cultural and creative journey.
The maiden edition has drawn film entries from more than 80 countries, reflecting global interest in J&K as a cultural and cinematic destination.
The festival will feature screenings of feature films, short films and documentaries, along with masterclasses and technical sessions on contemporary filmmaking.
The announcement came at 'Frame by Frame: The Storytellers' Meet', organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in Jammu.
