Andhra Pradesh FDI Inflows Rise Six-Fold in 2025-26: Centre
Foreign direct investment is when companies from other countries send money to build things or do business in another place.
Andhra Pradesh is a state in India.
In the last financial year, companies sent over five thousand crore rupees to Andhra Pradesh.
That is more than six times what the state received two years earlier.
A member of India's Parliament asked the government about this.
The government answered in Parliament and said Andhra Pradesh has friendly rules for businesses.
It also said companies get approvals faster there now.
Most of the new money went to the metals industry.
Food processing and cement companies also received a lot of money.
This is welcome news because new investment can help the state grow and create jobs.
Foreign direct investment inflows into Andhra Pradesh rose more than six-fold to $608.59 million (over ₹5,000 crore) in 2025-26, compared with $92.13 million in 2023-24.
The state received $233.14 million in 2024-25, meaning the 2025-26 figure was nearly three times the previous year's inflows.
The data was tabled in the Lok Sabha in a written reply by Minister of State Jitendra Singh to a question from YSRCP MP Dr Maddila Gurumoorthy.
The Centre attributed the rise to the state's industry-friendly policies, faster approvals and efforts to improve the ease of doing business.
The metals sector attracted the highest FDI in 2025-26 at $250.67 million, followed by food processing ($107.30 million) and cement and cement products ($99.90 million).
