Punjab Police recover 10 kg heroin; two arrested in Amritsar

Police officers in Punjab found a very large amount of a dangerous drug called heroin.

The drug weighed 10 kilograms, which is about as heavy as a big bag of potatoes.

The officers were from the Amritsar Rural Police.

They also arrested two people who they believe were involved with the drugs.

The top police officer, DGP Gaurav Yadav, shared the news on a social media site called X. He said this was a big hit to the people who smuggle drugs across the border.

A police case, called an FIR, was officially registered at Police Station Gharinda in Amritsar.

The case was filed under a law called the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, which deals with dangerous drugs.

This means the two arrested people could face serious legal consequences.
