Ladakh Approves Four Percent Jobs Reservation for Sportspersons

Ladakh will reserve four per cent of some government jobs for outstanding athletes.

The policy applies to direct recruitment for Group C posts, such as junior assistants and instructors.

It is intended to help talented young people continue sports without worrying as much about future jobs.

Athletes who compete for a state or country may qualify.

Medal winners in several national, university, and Khelo India competitions may also qualify.

Chess achievements can be included under the rules.

Better and higher-level sporting achievements will receive more points.

A committee will check whether the athletes’ certificates and achievements are genuine.
