Primary school headmaster shot dead by motorcycle-borne duo in Islampur
Every morning, Mr. Nazrul Islam rode his motorcycle to the primary school where he was the headmaster.
One Saturday morning, two men on a motorcycle shot him while he was riding to school.
Even though he was badly hurt, he tried to chase the attackers on his bike.
After riding about 50 metres, he fell onto the road.
People nearby rushed him to the hospital, but his injuries were too serious and he passed away.
His family said he was a kind man who had no known enemies.
His daughter remembered that he had recently sold a plot of land and lent some of the money to someone.
She heard him arguing with that person on the phone about getting the money back.
Police think the argument over the loan might be the reason he was shot, and they are searching for the person involved.
The investigation is still going on, and nobody has been arrested yet.
Nazrul Islam, 55, headmaster of Raja Bhim Primary School in Ramganj, was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne men near Madaripur along NH27 on Saturday morning.
The attack occurred around 8:30am about 6km from his home in Islampur, North Dinajpur district; despite serious injuries he chased the attackers before collapsing after about 50 metres.
