The protesters went to the city corporation office and brought pet dogs with them.

They said people are scared to take morning walks.

They also said a child was recently surrounded by several stray dogs.

NCP leader Bhausaheb Bhoir asked the city administration to act before someone dies.

The PCMC said it is increasing the number of cages and workers for dog sterilisation.

It also said people bitten by dogs can receive free rabies vaccines at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital.

The NCP warned that it could bring stray dogs into the PCMC building if concrete action is not taken.
