BJP appoints new state in-charges for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat
In India, grown-ups vote to choose their leaders, and these votes are called elections.
A big political group called the BJP is getting ready for upcoming elections.
The leader of the group, Mr. Nitin Nabin, picked new leaders for three states.
Mr. Vinod Tawde will take care of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Mr. Satish Poonia will take care of the state of Punjab.
Mr. Tarun Chugh will take care of the state of Gujarat.
This is like choosing a new team captain for each state team.
The group also changed many other important jobs at the same time.
Mr. Piyush Goyal will now take care of the group's money.
These changes will help the group get ready for the voting that will happen soon.
BJP president Nitin Nabin appointed Vinod Tawde as the new in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, with Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel as co-in-charge.
Dr Satish Poonia was appointed Punjab state in-charge and Tarun Chugh was appointed Gujarat in-charge, with all new appointments effective immediately.
The state appointments came a day after the party overhauled its national team, bringing in new faces and prominent leaders like Smriti Irani as general secretary and Ram Madhav as vice president.
Piyush Goyal was appointed national treasurer, Vasundhara Raje national vice-president, and Biplab Deb general secretary in the wider reshuffle.
The restructuring aims to strengthen coordination between the central leadership and state units ahead of assembly elections next year and the run-up to the 2029 Lok Sabha election.
