Kalyan Police Arrest Most-Wanted Vehicle Thief, Recover Nine Stolen Motorcycles
Some motorcycles were being stolen in an area near the big city of Mumbai called the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
A 25-year-old man named Abbas Shahjor Sayyed was thought to be taking many of them.
Police watched security camera videos and got secret tips to figure out who he was.
They caught him in a place called Gandhari, only a day after a motorcycle had disappeared.
That motorcycle was worth about 40,000 rupees.
When the police questioned him, they found nine stolen motorcycles worth 6,35,000 rupees altogether.
Because of his arrest, police could solve eight different theft cases.
The man had also been connected to other property crimes before.
Now, the police hope his arrest will give them clues about a bigger group of vehicle thieves.
Khadakpada Police in Kalyan arrested most-wanted habitual offender Abbas Shahjor Sayyed (25) in connection with a series of motorcycle thefts.
Police recovered nine stolen motorcycles collectively valued at ₹6.35 lakh after the arrest.
The arrest helped solve eight vehicle theft cases registered in Kalyan, Thane City, Murbad and Khadakpada police jurisdictions.
The investigation began after a motorcycle worth Rs 40,000 was stolen on August 4 from Gandhari off Vadavali Road.
The accused was also wanted in three property-related offences, including robbery cases, registered with Kapurbawdi and Badlapur police stations.
