Tesla says it will show a new version of its Roadster sports car on October 1.

The car was first shown to the public in 2017.

Tesla originally said deliveries would begin in 2020, but production was delayed several times.

Elon Musk confirmed the event after Tesla shared a launch-themed post on X. A special version might use small cold-gas thrusters developed with help from SpaceX.

Tesla has not officially confirmed that the thrusters will be shown.

The Roadster is expected to be a very fast electric car.

Its unveiling is happening while Tesla is also working on self-driving vehicles such as the Cybercab.
