YSRCP Urges Review of Ward Delimitation Before Local Polls
The YSR Congress Party says some local election wards may have been drawn incorrectly.
Its leader, Lella Appi Reddy, asked election officials to check the boundaries across the state.
He said people living on the same street or in the same family were sometimes placed in different wards.
He also said some faraway areas were grouped together.
He gave examples from Prasannayapalli and Tenali.
Tenali’s number of wards rose from 40 to 52.
The party wants officials to check complaints in the affected areas.
It also wants updated maps and voter lists so people can review them before local elections.
YSRCP general secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy asked the State Election Commission to review ward delimitation statewide.
He alleged that ward boundaries ignored geographical continuity, recognised localities, natural boundaries and door-number sequences.
Appi Reddy said voters from the same streets, colonies, families or addresses had been divided among different wards.
He cited alleged discrepancies in Prasannayapalli gram panchayat and Tenali municipality, where wards increased from 40 to 52.
He sought field verification, publication of revised maps and rolls, and suspension of disputed delimitations until objections are resolved.
