Engineer Educates 15,000 Rural Kids Through Free Coding
Shoaib Dar is an engineer who started teaching in rural schools.
He noticed that most kids had never used a computer.
So, he started Pi Jam Foundation to teach them coding and computer skills.
They use cheap computers called Raspberry Pi.

Shoaib Dar founded Pi Jam Foundation in 2017 to promote digital literacy among rural children.
The NGO has provided 400 computers to 15,500 kids across 51 schools in Telangana, Maharashtra, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Students create games, animations, and practical solutions like a weather monitoring device used by the Indian Meteorological Society.
Shoaib aims to shift the perception of computers from complex devices to tools that students can control and use to shape the digital world.
The initiative started with a 10-day boot camp using four Raspberry Pi computers, costing Rs 4,000-5,000 each.
