GIC Q1 Standalone Profit Jumps 10% to ₹1,922 Crore
GIC is a big Indian company that helps protect other insurance companies.
It shared its report card for the three months that ended in June 2026.
The report card shows how much money the company made.
On its own, GIC made more money this time than last year.
Its profit grew by almost 10 percent to about ₹1,922 crore.
That is a lot of money!
The company also collected more money from customers who pay for its insurance.
Its gross premium income went up to about ₹13,475 crore.
But when we count all the companies GIC owns together, the profit went down.
Together, they earned about 25 percent less than the same time last year.
General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC) reported standalone profit after tax of ₹1,922.04 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, up 9.69% year-on-year.
Standalone PAT was ₹1,752.23 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
Gross premium income rose to ₹13,475.36 crore from ₹12,388.01 crore a year earlier.
Consolidated profit for the June quarter fell 25.4% to ₹1,620.94 crore from ₹2,172.77 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The results were announced on Thursday, 13 August 2026.
