Panvel Panel Approves School, Road Projects; Defers Consultant Empanelment
A city in India called Panvel has a group of people who help decide how the city changes.
This group is called the Standing Committee.

They said yes to building a new school in a place called Kamothe.
They also said yes to making a road and a stormwater drain in Panvel.
They agreed to build a playground and to hire 111 more people to remove buildings built without permission.
They also approved programs to help women start businesses and gain confidence.
But they decided to wait before choosing consultants and fixing toilets, sewer pipes, water pumps, and parks.
They also changed their mind about building a drain and road in Taloja.
The committee chairman, Baban Mukadam, led the meeting.
The PMC Standing Committee approved construction of a municipal school at Sector 19, Plot No. 14 in Kamothe.
It approved a bituminous road and stormwater drain from the Panvel Fire Station to Final Plot No. 41 in Panvel city.
It cleared variation estimates under the Centre's Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment Scheme 2022-23 for a playground on Final Plot No. 414.
The committee deferred consultant empanelment, public toilet renovation, sewerage repairs, water pump servicing, and park maintenance proposals.
A proposal for an RCC drain and road concretisation from Taloja Phase II to the Ghot Koyanavele bridge in Ward No. 1 was cancelled.
