Around August 12, a low-pressure area will form, which usually means even more rain.
Weather experts say people in places like Jhargram and South 24 Parganas should be ready for heavy rain.
It is a good idea to carry an umbrella if you live there.
Parts of south Bengal, especially Jhargram, South 24 Parganas, Paschim and Purba Medinipur districts, are expected to receive heavy rainfall from Wednesday.
The monsoon trough currently extends from Bikaner through central India and Daltonganj to Digha.
The trough is set to pivot southeastwards into the east-central Bay of Bengal.
An upper-air cyclonic circulation persists over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level.
A low-pressure area is expected to develop over the same region around August 12.
