82 lakh EPS 95 pensioners: How to submit Jeevan Pramaan from home and avoid pension payment disruption · businesstoday.in

Many grandparents in India get a monthly pension called EPS-95.

Once a year, they must prove they are still alive to keep getting their money.

They do this by sending a special certificate called a Life Certificate, known as Jeevan Pramaan.

Instead of going to a bank, they can now do it from home using a smartphone.

A family member or helper can install two apps called Jeevan Pramaan and AadhaarFaceRD.

The apps take a photo of the person's face to check it matches their Aadhaar identity record.

Once the check succeeds, a digital certificate is created and sent to the agency that pays the pension.

If a pensioner cannot use a smartphone, they can visit a bank or post office, use fingerprint or eye scanning, or ask for doorstep help.

The certificate is valid for 12 months, so it must be renewed every year.
