Two Women Killed, Man Injured In Nathavaram Electric Shock

A dangerous electricity wire was hanging from the roof of a home in Nathavaram.

Rainwater had affected the wire’s support and caused its fittings to break.

Rongala Janaki touched the wire while going to the washroom and received a severe electric shock.

Her mother, Gompa Manga, tried to help her but was also shocked.

Both women died at the scene.

Janaki’s husband, Rongala Nagaraju, tried to move the wire with a wooden stick and was injured.

A neighbour alerted the electricity sub-station.

Officials quickly switched off the electricity and removed the dangerous wire.

Nagaraju was taken to hospital for treatment, while the women’s bodies were sent for post-mortem procedures.
