Andhra Pradesh Courts Gujarat Groups for Clean Energy Investments

Andhra Pradesh minister N. Lokesh met business leaders in Ahmedabad on Friday.

He asked several companies from Gujarat to invest in the state.

The proposed investments include clean energy, medicines, factories, data centres and solar products.

Torrent Group was asked to expand medicine production and renewable-energy projects.

Welspun was invited to build an industrial park and a global capability centre.

Other companies were asked to develop edible-oil refineries, tyres, pipes and prefabricated construction products.

ST Telemedia was invited to invest in data centres in Visakhapatnam.

Emcure Pharmaceuticals and Vishakha Group were asked to develop medicine, solar-module and packaging facilities.

Several company representatives said they would examine or consider the proposals.
