Farmer Dies Electrocuted While Repairing Transformer Wires in Hingoli
Mahadev Pohkar was working on his farm in Maharashtra when an irrigation pump stopped working.
He found that a wire on a transformer was broken.
He reportedly asked the electricity station to turn off the power.
After the power was disconnected, he climbed up to fix the wire.
The electricity suddenly came back while he was working.
He received a severe shock and died.
His body remained on the transformer for about an hour.
Farmers and villagers gathered and became angry while trying to contact power-company workers.
Mahadev Pohkar, a 33-year-old farmer, died after receiving an electric shock while reconnecting wires on a transformer.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. in Pardi Pohkar village, in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district.
Pohkar reportedly contacted the Pusegaon power substation and requested that electricity be disconnected before repairs.
Power unexpectedly resumed while he was reconnecting a wire, leaving him stuck to the transformer and critically burned.
His body remained on the transformer until about 10:30 a.m.; villagers said they could not reach power-company officials by phone.
