CARWAN Protests Detention of Noida Activists in Hyderabad
A group called CARWAN held a big peaceful gathering in Hyderabad.
They were asking for people who were put in jail to be set free.
Those people had helped workers in a city called Noida.
Workers there wanted more money — their pay to go from ₹9,000 to ₹20,000 each month.
Some helpers, called activists, told everyone to stay peaceful.
But police arrested them, and they have been locked up for about four months.
The group says police made up false cases against them and used a very strong law called the National Security Act.
They also say police sent secret people into WhatsApp groups to start trouble and were unkind to women, including pregnant women.
The group says even a 16-year-old boy has been kept in jail.
CARWAN wants everyone released and says the charges are not true.
CARWAN held a demonstration at Sundarayya Park in Baghlingampally, Hyderabad, demanding the release of detained Noida workers' movement activists.
The protest took place four months after workers and activists connected to the Noida workers' movement were detained.
Demonstrators accused Uttar Pradesh police of filing false cases, provoking violence, and misusing the National Security Act (NSA).
CARWAN representative Mahipal linked the arrests to a Noida strike demanding a wage increase from ₹9,000 to ₹20,000, saying activists had urged workers to stay peaceful.
Mahipal alleged police infiltrated WhatsApp groups to incite violence, mistreated pregnant women, and detained a 16-year-old boy in Laksar Jail, calling the NSA cases against Aakriti and Satyam fabricated.
