Collector Orders Smooth Evacuation Ahead of Veligonda Trial Run
There is a big water project called the Veligonda project.
Soon, it will do a test run by releasing water on August 22.
Some villages are in the area that will be covered by water, so the people who live there must move to new homes.
The district collector, M. Vijaya Sunitha, met with many officials to make a plan for this move.
She said the move should happen calmly and kindly, without forcing or upsetting anyone.
She promised that families who have to leave will be treated fairly and get the money they deserve.
Special teams were set up to help people leave nine villages, including Sunkesula, Kalanuthala and Gundencherla.
The new places where people will live need clean drinking water, electricity and roads before everyone arrives.
Officials must send a report every day to show how the work on the new homes is going.
This will help make sure everyone stays safe and comfortable.
Markapuram collector M. Vijaya Sunitha directed officials to ensure the safe evacuation of residents from villages in the Veligonda project's submergence area ahead of the scheduled water release trial run on August 22.
Special committees were constituted to oversee the evacuation of residents from nine villages, including Sunkesula, Kalanuthala, Gundencherla, Gottipadiya, Chintala Mudipi, Katamaraju Thanda, Lakshmipuram, Krishnanagar and Akkacheruvu.
The collector said the evacuation must be carried out without pressure or confrontation and in a cordial atmosphere.
She said every eligible displaced family would receive justice in compensation matters and directed officials to take precautionary measures to prevent difficulties during relocation.
Officials were directed to submit daily progress reports on R&R colonies and complete essential facilities such as drinking water, electricity and roads on a priority basis.
