President Droupadi Murmu is the President of India, the country's leader.

On the night before India's Independence Day, she gave a big speech to the whole nation.

Independence Day is when India celebrates becoming free from British rule in 1947.

This year, India is marking the beginning of its 80th year of independence.

In her speech, she thanked farmers, doctors, teachers, soldiers and many other people who help the country move forward.

She talked about a plan to make India strong and developed by the year 2047.

She shared good news, like many people coming out of poverty and many women becoming successful business owners.

She also asked everyone to protect nature and plant trees.

She remembered the people who suffered when India was divided long ago.

She ended her speech with 'Jai Hind!'

and 'Jai Bharat!', which show love for the country.
