A very famous Buddhist teacher called the Dalai Lama visited a special meditation place in Leh, Ladakh.

The place is named the Mahabodhi International Meditation Center.

He prayed together with monks and walked around a shrine that has 1,000 Buddha statues.

Many people, including schoolchildren, came to welcome him even though it was raining gently.

The center teaches people about meditation, Buddhist philosophy and spiritual learning.

It was started in 1986 by a monk named Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena.

It sits on a large 250-acre campus called Devachan.

The Dalai Lama often talks about being kind, peaceful and not hurting others.

His visit made the meditation center feel even more special to the people there.
