Pregnancy and Marriage Demand Linked to Guduvanchery Murder
Police are investigating the death of Ayuthan Nisha, a woman who lived near Chennai.
They say she was in a relationship with Manick Uddin Laskar.
Police also say Nisha became pregnant and wanted Laskar to marry her.
Laskar’s wife, Bhagapati Majhi, reportedly knew about the relationship.
Investigators say the couple went to Nisha’s home and killed her while she was asleep.
They put her remains in a suitcase and took it onto a train.
The suitcase was later found at Agra railway station.
Police used station camera recordings to identify and arrest the couple.
Police said Manick Uddin Laskar and his wife, Bhagapati Majhi, killed Ayuthan Nisha after she became pregnant and wanted Laskar to marry her.
Nisha, 38, had reportedly been in an intimate relationship with Laskar, 22, while his wife knew about it.
Police said the couple attacked Nisha at her Guduvanchery home on July 3 and cut up her body.
Her remains were found inside a flour-covered suitcase in an unreserved Tamil Nadu Express compartment at Agra railway station on August 5.
CCTV footage from Chennai Central railway station helped police identify and arrest the couple in Manipur.
