NTPC is one of India’s major power companies.

It currently operates about 91 gigawatts of capacity.

The company wants to grow to 149 gigawatts by 2032 and 244 gigawatts by 2037.

Some of this new power will come from renewable sources such as solar and wind.

NTPC plans to spend Rs 16.86 lakh crore on power, mining, storage and nuclear projects.

It is also preparing to build more nuclear power plants.

The company says nuclear power can provide steady electricity alongside renewable energy.

NTPC reported its highest-ever group profit in FY26.
