560 Bullock Carts Compete in Rajyapal Kesari Race
A large bullock cart race was held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
It was organised to honour Governor Haribhau Bagade.
As many as 560 carts entered the competition.
Thousands of people came to watch the race.
The carts competed in 67 rounds divided into 56 groups.
The event lasted for more than 11 hours.
Winners moved forward to later stages, including the semi-finals.
Governor Bagade also spoke about choosing a strong replacement for a famous bull called Lakhan, which is banned in Western Maharashtra.
A record 560 bullock carts registered for the Mahamahim Rajyapal Kesari race in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The race was held Tuesday at the foothills of Bhangsi Mata Gadh in honour of Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade.
Thousands of spectators, owners and drivers attended from Maharashtra and beyond.
The competition ran for more than 11 hours, completing 67 rounds across 56 groups.
Eleven groups advanced to the semi-finals, which were also completed; Panchayat Samiti member Sarjerao Chavan organised the event.
