Infrastructure Awards Rise 23% in July as L&T Leads
Companies received many new infrastructure projects in July.
The total value of these projects was about Rs 1.2 lakh crore, which was 23% higher than in June.
L&T received the largest amount of work, including projects from TenneT and NTPC.
Adani Energy Solutions also won a large electricity-transmission project.
Other companies received orders for solar power, radar equipment, wind power and transmission lines.
However, the number of new project tenders announced during the month went down.
Highway tenders fell sharply, while railway tenders increased.
A large future pipeline of highway projects could lead to more awards in FY27.
India’s infrastructure order awards rose 23% in July to about Rs 1.2 lakh crore, according to JM Financial.
L&T received the largest share, securing Rs 73,800 crore in orders, including a roughly Rs 30,000 crore TenneT contract.
Adani Energy Solutions won Rs 85 billion of transmission work for green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in Andhra Pradesh.
Fresh infrastructure tenders fell 16% year on year to Rs 1.5 lakh crore, although they remained above the FY26 monthly average.
NHAI’s highway bid pipeline increased to Rs 1.42 lakh crore in August, while JM Financial expects awarding to improve in FY27.
