Delhi, Oil India Sign MoU for 800 TPD Biogas Plants
The city of Delhi and a company called Oil India Limited made a deal to build two new plants that will turn garbage into useful gas and fertilizer.
One plant can handle 500 tonnes of waste a day and will be built in a place called Tehkhand.
The other plant can handle 300 tonnes a day and will be built in Okhla.
Together, they can process 800 tonnes of waste each day.
This helps keep the city cleaner and gives farmers a good fertilizer to grow crops.
MCD and Oil India Limited signed a MoU to build two CBG plants.
The plants will process a combined 800 tonnes of wet waste per day.
A 500‑tonne plant will be built on 10 acres at Tehkhand; a 300‑tonne plant on 7 acres at Okhla.
The facilities will convert segregated organic waste into compressed biogas and organic fertilizer.
The deal followed the cancellation of an earlier agreement with IL&FS for a 300‑tonne plant at Okhla.
