NFR General Manager Inspects Alipurduar Division Safety and Facilities
Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, who leads Northeast Frontier Railway, visited Alipurduar Division on October 7, 2026.
He checked railway tracks, bridges, electrical equipment and other assets during a train journey from New Bongaigaon to Alipurduar Junction.
He also visited railway facilities at the junction.
Several new facilities were opened, including places to inspect train coaches, maintain bio-toilets and train railway staff.
Other new facilities will help staff learn about signals and communications, and use technology for learning.
A sports complex is also planned, and its foundation stone was laid.
Railway officials said these improvements are intended to support safety, maintenance, staff development and passenger comfort.

The inspection reviewed operational safety, maintenance infrastructure and staff training facilities.
During a window trailing inspection from New Bongaigaon to Alipurduar Junction, he examined tracks, bridges, overhead electrical installations and other railway assets.
At Alipurduar Junction, he inaugurated a pit line, a Bio-Toilet Laboratory, a Carriage and Wagon Model cum Staff Training Room, and several signalling, communications and learning facilities.
He also laid the foundation stone for a proposed Multidisciplinary Sports Complex at Alipurduar Junction.
