Bangladesh Imposes Shopping Centre Curbs to Manage Power Crisis

Bangladesh is a country that doesn't have enough electricity right now.

To save power, the government said shops and malls can only stay open from 11 in the morning until 8 at night.

Before this rule, shops could stay open until 9 at night.

Bright advertising signs on buildings must be turned off by 7 at night, and fancy decoration lights must stay off too.

Some important places, like hospitals, pharmacies, and food shops, are allowed to stay open as usual.

The country is facing this problem because there is not enough gas and fuel to make electricity.

Fighting in the Middle East has made the energy problem worse.

Government leaders say the problem started with the previous government and is not the new government's fault.

To fix it, the government plans to find more gas inside Bangladesh, buy gas from Malaysia, and get more electricity from the sun.
