IMD Warns of Flash Flood Risk Amid Intensifying Monsoon
The India Meteorological Department said that the monsoon is getting stronger across India.
Because of this, there is a chance of flash floods in some areas of the Northeast for the next day.
It also expects very heavy rain in places like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya for the next week.
The rain will be so heavy that it could be more than 21 centimeters in some spots.
Thunderstorms and strong winds are also expected in many states, so people should stay careful.
IMD warns of low‑to‑moderate flash flood risk in parts of Northeast India for the next 24 hours.
Extremely heavy rainfall (≥21 cm) forecast for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya over the next seven days.
Widespread rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds expected across eastern and northwest India, including West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Odisha.
Specific districts at risk include Changlang, Dibang Valley, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Tawang, and several districts in Assam and Meghalaya.
The monsoon is intensifying across large parts of India, bringing heavy rain to Kerala, Karnataka, and the Himalayan states.
