TGEJAC Holds Karimnagar Protest Over Pending Employee Demands
Many government workers and other employees held a large protest in Karimnagar.
They gathered outside the Collectorate on Thursday.
The protest was part of a wider action across Telangana.
The workers said several of their demands have remained unresolved.
They want their pay to be revised and six unpaid allowances to be released.
They also want the old pension system restored instead of the contributory pension system.
Other demands include clearing bills, issuing health cards, and handling promotions and transfers on time.
Their leader said the protests could become stronger if the government does not act.
Government employees and several worker groups staged a maha dharna at the Karimnagar Collectorate on Thursday.
The protest followed a statewide agitation call by the Telangana Government Employees Joint Action Committee.
Protesters demanded implementation of the Pay Revision Commission and release of six pending dearness allowances.
They also sought restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, clearance of pending bills, health cards, transfers, and promotions.
TGEJAC leader Daram Srinivas Reddy warned that the agitation would intensify if the government did not respond.
