A very important leader in India named Sukhbir Singh Badal was hurt when a man attacked him with a special dagger called a kirpan.

This happened near a Sikh holy place called a gurdwara in the city of Nanded.

The police caught the attacker quickly.

Mr. Badal got a small injury on his hand and was taken to a private hospital.

One of his security guards was also hurt.

Because he is an important leader, he always has many guards protecting him.

This is not the first time someone has tried to hurt him.

Last year, in December 2024, another man tried to shoot him at the famous Golden Temple in Amritsar.

That man was stopped by other people before he could fire his gun.

Mr. Badal was at the Golden Temple doing a special religious duty called seva, and he is safe now.
