Jayant Sinha Warns India Must Scale AI Investment
India Inc’s $150 billion capex dwarfed by Microsoft sized AI spend: Jayant Sinha flags investment gap · businesstoday.in

Jayant Sinha said India needs to invest much more in artificial intelligence and data centers.

He compared India’s total yearly business investment with the much larger spending of companies such as Microsoft.

He said the United States invests about $1 trillion each year in AI and data centers.

Sinha believes India may need to spend $50 billion annually on data centers.

He also said India needs about $400 billion more investment every year overall.

This extra investment could help India grow faster and create jobs.

India currently grows by about 6–7% each year, but Sinha wants growth of 8–10%.

He said young Indians need better skills and productive work.

According to Sinha, attracting investment depends mainly on offering investors good returns, not on a lack of available global money.
