Puducherry Unveils Major Infrastructure and Economic Expansion Plans
Puducherry’s government has announced a large plan to improve the region.
It wants to expand the airport so bigger airplanes can fly there.
New industrial zones may bring investments and create many jobs.
Other projects will improve water supply, sanitation, roads and drainage.

A proposed Rs 4,800-crore airport expansion would extend the runway from 1,500 to 2,300 metres.
Two planned SEZs could attract Rs 3,225 crore and generate about 70,000 jobs.
Urban and coastal projects worth Rs 6,183 crore will target water, sanitation, roads, resilience and ecosystems.
Pension increases, assistance for women heads of BPL families, education support and healthcare upgrades were also announced.
