Kurnool Congress rally unfurls 100-metre tricolour ahead of Independence Day
People in the Indian city of Kurnool got together for a big celebration.
They did this a few days before their country's Independence Day.
The celebration was a walk called a rally.
Everyone carried a very long Indian flag that was 100 metres long.
That is about as long as a football field.
A local leader named Boya Kranti Naidu led the walk.
It started at Kotla Circle and ended at a famous old fort called Konda Reddy Fort.
Many students, young people, and adults joined the walk.
The leader reminded everyone about the brave people who worked hard for India's freedom.
He also asked everyone to stay united and follow the country's values.
The Kurnool District Congress Committee (DCC) organized a grand rally featuring a 100-metre-long national flag in Kurnool on Tuesday.
The rally was led by DCC president and advocate Boya Kranti Naidu and ran from Kotla Circle to Konda Reddy Fort.
Students, youth, Congress leaders, civil society representatives, district officials, and the public participated in the march.
Kranti Naidu said India's Independence was achieved through the sacrifices of legendary freedom fighters and urged citizens to safeguard democratic institutions, secularism, social justice, and constitutional values.
The DCC chief called on people to rise above caste, religion, region, and political divisions under the spirit of 'One Flag – One Nation – One India.'
