India Passenger Vehicle Exports Fall Despite Record August Domestic Dispatches
Indian car companies sent fewer passenger vehicles to other countries in August 2026.

Domestic passenger vehicle dispatches rose 36.5% to a record 4,39,309 units for August.
Passenger car exports dropped 51.5%, while utility vehicle exports increased 23.7%.
Overall passenger vehicle production climbed 25.7% to 4,54,266 units during the month.
SIAM attributed strong domestic momentum to consumer confidence, resilient rural demand and improving financing conditions.
