Odisha Cancels 96 Fertiliser Licences, Suspends 170 More
The Odisha government checked many shops that sell fertiliser to farmers.
It said some dealers were not following the rules.
Licences were cancelled for 96 dealers, and 170 more had their licences suspended.
Officials also temporarily stopped sales by 321 dealers.
They inspected or raided 11,684 shops.
Some fertiliser stocks were seized, and criminal cases were filed against seven dealers.
The government said enough fertiliser was available for farmers.
It is continuing inspections during the kharif farming season.

Enforcement squads inspected and raided 11,684 wholesale and retail fertiliser shops across the state.
Authorities issued 2,774 show-cause notices, suspended sales by 321 dealers and seized stocks from 12 dealers.
The Agriculture department said fertiliser supplies were adequate and urged farmers not to panic during the kharif season.
