Andhra Pradesh assures transparent fertiliser distribution via APAIMS app
Transparency ensured in fertiliser distribution: Govt · thehansindia.com

In Andhra Pradesh, a state in India, the government helps farmers buy fertiliser, which is plant food that helps crops grow.

To make sure every farmer can get the right amount fairly, the government made a phone app called APAIMS.

Farmers use the app to buy fertiliser instead of being cheated by shopkeepers.

More than 15 lakh farmers used the app and bought over 3 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser.

The government keeps track of the fertiliser from the factory all the way to the farmer.

Some dealers tried to charge too much money or force farmers to buy other products along with fertiliser.

The government punished them by suspending or cancelling their licences and registering cases.

After recent rains, farmers will need more urea, a type of fertiliser, during August and September.

The government says there is enough urea stock available and advises farmers to use only the recommended amount.
