IMD warns of heavy rain, flash flood risk in Arunachal
The India Meteorological Department said it will rain a lot in Arunachal Pradesh on July 31 and Saturday.
It warned that nine districts could have flash floods because of the heavy rain.
Thunderstorms with lightning are also expected.
In some places, like Lower Subansiri, the rain will be a bit less but still heavy.
The monsoon has already caused 7 deaths and hurt more than 150,000 people in the state.
IMD forecasts very heavy rainfall (12‑20 cm) in Papum Pare on July 31, continuing Saturday.
Flash flood alert issued for nine districts: Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, Kurung Kumey, Upper Subansiri, Anjaw, Dibang Valley, Tirap, Changlang.
Thunderstorms with lightning are expected across the affected districts.
Heavy rainfall (6‑11 cm) also forecast for isolated places in Lower Subansiri district.
Ongoing monsoon has already caused 7 deaths and affected 153,553 people in 27 districts.
