Four Dead, Five Army Personnel Missing After Arunachal Landslide, Flood
Arunachal Pradesh is a hilly state in the northeast of India, and during the rainy season it sometimes gets very heavy rain.
On Friday evening, so much rain fell that a landslide — when lots of rocks and mud slide down a hill — happened where workers were building a road.
The landslide buried several workers, and sadly four people lost their lives.
In another part of the state called Dibang Valley, a flash flood, which is a sudden rush of water, swept away two shelters at an Army camp.
Seven soldiers were caught in the water, and two of them were rescued.
Five soldiers — Havaldar Upendar, Kundan, Vinod, Aditya and Samunda — are still missing.
Soldiers, police officers and disaster rescue teams are searching for them, and helicopters from the Army have joined the effort.
The heavy rain has also taken more than 10 lives across the state and damaged many roads, bridges, power lines and schools.
Everyone is working very hard to find the missing soldiers and keep people safe.
Four people died in a landslide at the Keojaring-Byaching road cutting site in Upper Subansiri district.
A flash flood washed away two shelters of the 5th Grenadier at Pasu Pani Army Camp in Dibang Valley district.
