Renault Unveils Niagara Pickup With 4x4, Hybrid Planned
Renault has shown a new pickup truck called the Niagara.
It is designed to help Renault grow outside Europe.
The truck will first arrive in Brazil in November 2026.
Buyers will be able to choose versions with two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
Its engine uses petrol and can also use ethanol.
The Niagara has a large cargo bed for carrying items and can tow a trailer.
Inside, it has digital screens, Google-built-in features and several safety systems.
Renault plans to add a hybrid version in 2027, but it has not explained exactly how that system will work.
Renault has unveiled the Niagara, a double-cab lifestyle pickup based on the Renault Group Modular Platform shared with the Duster.
The Niagara will launch in Brazil in November 2026 with front-wheel-drive 4x2 and all-wheel-drive 4x4 variants.
All launch versions will use a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing up to 160 hp and 270 Nm of torque.
The pickup has a 938-litre cargo bed, a 654kg payload rating and a 710kg towing capacity.
A hybrid version is planned for Brazil from 2027, although Renault has not yet detailed its powertrain system.
