Mirabai Chanu wins third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal

Mirabai Chanu is a weightlifter from India.

A weightlifter is someone who lifts heavy metal bars with plates of weights on them.

She took part in the Commonwealth Games, a big sports event where athletes from many countries compete.

She won the gold medal, which is the prize for coming in first place.

This was her third gold medal in a row at the Commonwealth Games, which is an incredible achievement.

Her win was also the first gold medal for India at the Glasgow 2026 Games.

During the competition she lifted more weight than she ever had before.

She lifted 85kg in the snatch and 105kg in the clean and jerk, for a total of 190kg.

After winning, she posted a video on Instagram of herself doing handstand push-ups, which are push-ups done upside down.

She wrote 'Never give up' on the video to inspire other people.
