Baba Kalbhairav Procession Marks Dol Gyaras Celebrations In Ujjain
A special procession for Baba Kalbhairav was held in Ujjain on Dol Gyaras.
The deity was decorated before being carried in a palanquin.
Officials performed prayers and helped begin the procession.
Many police officers, musicians, horses and devotees joined it.
The procession stopped at the Central Jail, where inmates prayed and welcomed Baba with flowers.
It then continued to Siddhavat for more prayers.
Performances showed stories about Ravana, Lord Shiva, Lord Ram and Kumbhakarna.
Sadhus, saints and children dressed as sadhus also helped make the event festive.
A procession carrying Baba Kalbhairav’s palanquin began at the Kalbhairav Temple on Tuesday evening for Dol Gyaras.
Collector Raushan Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma performed puja and aarti before flagging off the procession.
The procession traveled through Bhairavgarh to the Central Jail, where inmates attended darshan and police gave a guard of honour.
It later reached Siddhavat and featured police personnel, bands, drums, flags, horses, a carriage and devotees.
Tableaux showed Ravana’s penance before Lord Shiva and Lord Ram’s slaying of Kumbhakarna, while sadhus and children dressed as sadhus joined the celebrations.
