Gujarat To Mumbai: NCB Busts Opioid Drug Diversion Network

Some medicines are very strong and can hurt people if they are not used the right way.

The Narcotics Control Bureau is a special police team in India that stops bad people from selling these medicines illegally.

Police officers stopped a bus coming from Gujarat to Mumbai and found many bottles of strong cough syrup on it, and they arrested a man.

Then the officers searched a big storage building called a godown in the city of Vadodara, where they found even more bottles of cough syrup and tablets.

Some people had changed the numbers on the bottles and made fake papers to hide what they were doing.

The officers think the medicines were going to be sold in Mumbai, Bhiwandi, and nearby places.

In another action, the police found a plant drug called charas hidden in a house in Ghatkopar and arrested a woman.

The woman and her friends wanted to sell the drug for more money during the festive season, when it becomes harder to find.

The police are still looking for the other people involved, and anyone who knows about drugs being sold illegally can call the secret helpline 1933.
